Silk Sonic emerges Grammy’s song of the year

The group mission of Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, Silk Sonic, has on Sunday won the Grammy for Song of the Year for their single “Leave The Door Open”.

Sunday’s event will be the third Grammy of the night for the duo, who aimed are R&B crooners on their throwback hit.

They won against a heavy space that included pop queens, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo.

Mars, a grammy winner with 11 wins to his name before Sunday’s event gave the coveted prize honouring best songwriting with collaborators including Paak.

Before announcing in 2021 that they had formed a band and produced an album, Mars and Paak traveled together in 2017.

The debut of Silk Sonic at last year’s Grammys, had the group performing “Leave The Door Open” along with an homage to the late legend, Little Richard.

Mars and Paak’s Silk Sonic project is of a 1970s rebirth group that recognizes the musicians.
