Another Super Eagles Star Plunged Into Financial Crises After Stardom

Former Super Eagles defender Kingsley Udoh is currently enduring difficult financial time following his retirement from active footbal.

Udoh was captain of the Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets that won the 2007 FIFA U-17 world cup tournament in South Korea.

The ruthless defender has also represented Nigeria in the U-20 and U-23 age-grade football.

He was also part of the Super Eagles squad that trained ahead of the 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ghana. The defender was however dropped by then coach Berti Vogts.

Speaking to the media in a recent interview, the former Akwa United defender, revealed he’s constrained financially. Adding that, he has lost possession of his gold medal from the 2007 age-grade tournament.

Udoh Laments Losing World Cup Gold Medal.

“I can’t find my U-17 FIFA World Cup gold medal. My father was in charge of it. Since he passed, I have not seen the medal. It’s so bad. I am struggling to feed. I can’t even attend a coaching course as I would have liked because of lack of funds,” lamented Udoh.

Before his retirement, the ex Super Eagles man enjoyed spells in the domestic league with meritorious outings with at Heartland FC, Kano Pillars, and Sunshine Stars.
